My Grad Slam speech + An appeal

Chipping in to support my research

In early April, I won the campus Grad Slam competition here at Sac State, in which CSU graduate students give a compelling three-minute speech explaining their research. I advanced to the state competition on May 9th, but unfortunately due to an urgent family situation I was not able to compete. I recorded this video just before, and I’m now sharing this to provide a glimpse of the research I’ve been working on (outside of coursework).

In the video, I mention a study I’m planning for this summer, to interview adults who have sought diagnosis for ADHD. This is where I need your help. The CSU system doesn’t offer funding for this type of student research. In alignment with ethical research practice, I intend to offer $25 gift cards to those who agree to be interviewed for my study. Assuming 20 participants, I only need $500. Every $25 that is donated funds an interview for my study. Will you help via PayPal or via Venmo ( @JennRaleyMiller )?

For transparency, as a nonprofit professional, I feel obliged to state that your donation is not tax-deductible. It will go to me directly, to purchase gift cards for the study.

If you can’t donate, well-wishes are also gratefully accepted!
